Groundshaker Sliver by chasestone Groundshaker Sliver by chasestone
Really happy with the way this one came out, everything came together very smoothly which doesn't happen all that often. Plus I think the new direction for the m14 Slivers is freaking cool, So it was just a lot of fun working on this guy.

I really like the new slivers. People will complain even if they stayed the same. It's nice for a change

May I ask, how you make these snakelike hair/vines/whatever? I think you used them for Steelform Sliver and Xathird Gorgo as well and I like them. :)
However, I like the way the illusion movement is done. And I like the rest, too, of course. Very nice.

You know, he looks mean, but he's got a great smile on his face :D At least from this angle...

Do you set up lighting references before starting a project? By this, I mean do you use a maquette or 3d model with a lighting scheme applied to it?

I've seen and heard of other artists doing this; taking photographs of friends or props under specific lighting conditions to use for original pieces.

Amazing as always. Your use of light is amazing. It's what I aspire to achieve with my paintings. I'm not even close, but I'm practicing. Keep up the great work. Absolutely amazing!

The light and movement in this image are really something. The splintering wood and rays of light hitting the creature are beautiful. Amazing work!
