Grandma by ~Chase-SC2 Suggester says: "Calm and tranquil, yet somewhat eerie and thought invoking. Where do they come from, where are they heading, who are they?" ( Suggested by tadp0l3 and Featured by MacRebisz )

I'm really drawn to paintings of people living on ships. I love things that capture the spirit of the explorer: the excitement, melancholy, and tranquility of a lonely journey. This was captivating to me. I don't know that I can put it into words, but I feel mesmerized by this piece. Excellent work!

It's quiet sunning scene.

I could imagine LOTS of stories with just this one illustration.

If I look at it with hopeful thoughts,

they are now returning to earth and grandma is telling a story, which is related to life on earth, to a baby who is space-born.

But if I just flip a bit,

then I see them leaving the earth and she is in grief because she won't return ever again before she dies, but the baby has no idea and can't sympathizes with her.

Now I say this is what we call the REAL conceptual art.

Wow, inspiring art. I admit that I usually don't like realistic work too much, but this one really stands out in point of story AND technique . Thanks for sharing!

This is one of the most beautiful pieces of art I've seen. You're use of the medium is fantastic. I think of them looking back and seeing a crazy complicated, beautiful, home, full of strife and passion. Now they are on journey of starting new things. Starting new things, with each other, connected.

"Maybe you can walk on surface someday"

Simple picture, but well done indeed. Some many possible senarios that could spring from this. Well done.

This gave me a knot in my stomach. Despite of, or maybe because of, the sensation of dread and nostalgia your artwork arose, it's beautifully done. Im gonna go hug someone now.

Very beautiful and endearing piece. There is a sweet symbolism of a grandmother and child looking back on what look like earth our home plant. I am also thoughtful of this piece, it could hold so many stories and meanings, is it a dark one of loss, some thing bitter sweet? or just simply something in wonderment and beauty?

"...look at it... isn't it just beautiful...

I was only a little bit older than you the last time I saw a watersea. Soon you'll be down there... listening to waterwaves crash on the shore... watching the moontides ebb and flow across the hours...

As for your old gramma, well... I think I'll stay up here... enjoying this view. That's your life down there, your future.

Do great things with your life, child. Forge your future, remember our past, and... don't forget to look up sometimes.

...I'll always be watching over you."

Something about this just touches me :) Many of us probably have grandparents or great-grandparents who came from somewhere else, and sometimes they can be loveably weird because of it. Who hasn't had this moment? "Dude, don't worry. Grandma's not weird, she's just foreign." It's quite possible that one day, WE will be the "loveably weird foreign grandparents" on another world. "Dude, don't listen to Grampa. He's from Earth." haha.
